Did You Know?

Listen to Your Children

This summer, when your children are out of school and on different schedules, meeting new people and going to new places, make sure that you talk to them often about their experiences and the people they’ve met. Listen carefully to your children. If possible, observe and get to know the other children and adults who are part of your children’s summertime fun. Above all, communicate your safety concerns to your children. Make sure they know that they can come to you with any concerns they may have about the people they interact with. And if you hear of or observe behaviors that may be inappropriate, make sure to communicate your feelings to people who are in a position to intervene. Communication is key to creating and maintaining a safe environment all year round.

For particular help you may call, Kevin Scully or Jeanne Bruno at the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington at 1-802-658-6110.

EUCHARIST ADORATION - Starting June 4, there will be Eucharist Adoration at Christ the King Church every Friday for the summer from noon to 3:00 PM.

BABY BOOTIES FOR LIFE

If you didn’t pick up your pair of booties at Mass last week, it’s not too late! To show our respect for the sanctity of human life, St. Peter & St. Dominic Churches are participating in Vermont Right to Life’s “Baby Booties for Life” fundraiser. It’s easy! Just take home a pair of booties today as you leave church and bring them back filled with cash, a check, or lots of change by Father’s Day weekend, June 19th or 20th. Checks payable to Vermont Right to Life Educational Trust Fund are tax deductible. (They can’t afford lost booties, so please don’t forget to bring them back!) For more information, contact the Rectory Office at 775-1994.

We will forward any collected pledges to the Bishop’s Fund office after June 20, 2010 Masses. The June issue of the Vermont Catholic has additional information about the ministries and programs supported by the Bishop’s Fund, please be sure to read this issue.
