RCIA PROGRAM
FOR BELIEVERS AND WOULD-BE BELIEVERS
The RCIA process is designed
to help persons in one or more of the following groups:
-
Catholics who want to deepen their understanding
of their Faith.
-
Adult Catholics preparing for 1st
Communion and Confirmation.
-
Returning Catholics.
-
Non-Catholics who want to learn more about
Catholic Christianity.
-
Non-Catholics who want to become a member of the
Catholic Church.
RCIA is the process of
learning and living the message of Jesus as revealed in the Scriptures and in
Catholic tradition. The program explores the teachings, practices, and history
of the Catholic Church – so that each person involved in the process comes to
enjoy a fuller, richer understanding of God and his/her relationship to God and
community. For enrollment or for more information, please contact Fr. Ted at
775-1994.
Adam De Blasio’s Eagle Scout Project on the Holy Family Shrine is
almost completed. Adam has raised enough money and he has worked very hard on
it. The cross has been completed, the trees and the flowers have been planted,
marble chips and mulch have been put around the statues and there are a few
small things to be done. Please stop and see the progress and how beautiful it
is. You will be very pleased.

FILL THE CUPBOARD CHALLENGE
September 8 marks the start
of the 7th Annual CVPS Fill the Cupboard Challenge and it ends on
September 25. In the past six years, Fill the Cupboard participants have
donated nearly 100,000 food items to the Rutland Community Cupboard – a
remarkable amount that has served hundreds of families during the most
difficult times. The current recession makes your involvement in this year’s
Fill the Cupboard Challenge more important than ever before. Since January, the
Cupboard has served over 400 new families who did not use their services in 2008.
In total, over 1,300 families have visited the Cupboard one or more times in
2009. The Rutland Community Cupboard will only continue to meet this
overwhelming demand with your help! Our goal is to collect 20,000 food items,
and with your continued support, I know we can meet it. There will be boxes for the food items by the exits of St. Peter
Church until September 27.
Please remove all flowers, flower boxes and any flower hangers (wrought
iron or metal rods) from
