COURT ST. ROSE 1100 will be having a regular CDA meeting on Monday, October 12 at 6:30 PM in St. Dominic’s Parish Hall. Theresa Allen and Lynn Ryan are on committee that evening. The agenda includes finalizing a proposed budget and the calendar of events for our fiscal year so please plan on attending. PRAY THE ROSARY FOR PEACE

A public square rosary, to honor the 92nd Anniversary of Our Lady’s Apparitions at Fatima, Portugal, will be held on Saturday, October 18 after the 11:00 AM Mass at St. Peter Church.

 

 

 

On Thursday, October 22 at 7:00 PM, Bishop Matano will offer Mass at Christ the King, Rutland, for the coming deployment of our men and women in military service from Vermont who will be sent to Afghanistan.  Please join us for this Eucharist.

BLOOD DRIVE – A blood drive will be held at Grace Congregational Church, 8 Court St., Rutland on Tuesday, October 13 from noon until 6:00 PM.

 

CROP WALK FOR HUNGER will be held on Sunday, October 18th. Registration is at 1:00 PM and the walk begins at 1:30 PM starting a Grace Congregational Church for 1 and 5 mile routes. The Crop Walk, sponsored by Church World United, is a community based, interfaith and all ages walking together to take a stand against world hunger. 25% of the monies collected in pledges by the walkers is given to the Rutland Community Cupboard. PITTSFORD CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, UCC presents Don Eaton in concert on Saturday, October 17 at 7:00 PM. BLIZZARD BAGS

The Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts a cold, snowy winter. Please help the Council on Aging to provide bundles of shelf stable foods to 800 homebound or isolated seniors, for “emergency stash” on a day we can’t deliver Meals on Wheels. We are asking for your help with donations of some specific items:

 

6.75 – 8 ounce fruit juice (100% juice) – juice boxes

4 ounce peaches, pears, mandarin oranges, pineapple or fruit cocktail – snack packs

4 ounce apple sauce – snack packs

4 ounce pudding – snack packs

The collection will take place from now until Sunday, November 1. There are Blizzard Bag boxes at the entrances of St. Peter’s and St. Dominic’s.

Mass of Thanksgiving at the 5:15 PM Mass

at St. Peter on Saturday, October 17.

 

St. Peter and St. Dominic will host a

parish pot luck dinner at 6:30 PM at

St. Dominic Parish Hall.
