     Making – St. Dominic

On Sunday, November 16 at St. Dominic’s Parish Hall, we will have a Ministry Day for the Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors and those involved in our music ministry from St. Peter’s and St. Dominic’s. It will be from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. Fr. Ted will give the opening talk on the Eucharist. During the second session, those involved in different ministries will meet in small groups to discuss their ministry and exchange ideas. It is very important that all those involved in liturgical ministry at our two parishes attend this special day.

Next Sunday, November 23, there will be a Pancake Breakfast and Advent Wreath Making after the 9:15 AM Mass at St. Dominic.

This week a letter will be sent to all our parishioners on our mailing list from St. Peter and St. Dominic. The purpose of this letter is to encourage our former active parishioners to return to our parish communities. There is a pamphlet entitled “Top Ten Reasons to come back to the Catholic Church” included with the letter. The pamphlet will hopefully encourage our former parishioners to return to our communities. I encourage our active parishioners to give the pamphlet to someone who is no longer an active Catholic. Please pray that this effort to reach out to our former members will be successful.

THANKSGIVING ECUMENICAL SERVICE will be held on Tuesday, November 25th. The Proctor community, led by clergy and laity from our three churches, will gather to give thanks for the life we share at 7:00 PM at the Union Church. There will be hymns and lessons, prayers and expressions of gratitude to God, as well as two opportunities to share some of the good things in our lives with others. A collection of non-perishable food will be given to the Pittsford, Florence and Proctor Food Shelf, and the money collection will go toward funding the Proctor Community Concern Council’s Christmas Voucher Program. Both of these outreach efforts are critical as we approach a winter in which the need of our neighbors has escalated dramatically. So come, lift your heart and voice in praise to God, and the bounty of your resources in service to others!

ST. PETER FUEL RAFFLE

The St. Peter Parish Council will be holding a raffle to supplement the St. Peter Fuel Collection. This year we expect fuel to be twice as expensive as last year. The Fuel Collection does not raise enough to pay for fuel to heat the church. The Fuel Collection needs another source of funding. Raffle tickets are $20.00 each. There will be monthly prize drawings from November through March with a grand prize drawing in April. Four prizes will be drawn each month:  one $100.00 prize, two $50.00 prizes and one $25.00 prize. The monthly drawings will be the last weekend of the month. There will be notices in the bulletin. At the grand prize drawing, we will draw two $500.00 winners and one $250.00 winner. Winners need not be present. For tickets or information contact Sue Ahearn at 775-7398, Angie LaVictoire at 775-1256 or Joe Eno at 773-3111 (day) or 773-3665 evenings. Tickets will be sold at the back of the church after Mass throughout the month of November.

THANKSGIVING BASKETS

Again this year, St. Peter’s will be putting together Thanksgiving Baskets for needy families. There are slips of paper at the entrances of the Church with names of food items that are needed. Please take a slip or slips and bring that food item to Church on or before Sunday, November 23rd. Thank you.
