On going bottle drive – Receptacles are still in the Church for drop off. Bottle drive will continue throughout the year. If you have a large number of bottles, we will pick them up. Please call the Rectory at 775-1994.

BISHOP’S FUND UPDATE

The 2010 Bishop’s Fund is nearing completion.

St. Peter’s has raised a total of $24,445.00 of their $38,690.00 goal and St. Dominic’s has raised a total of $5,755.00 of their $10,295.00 goal. Thank you to everyone who has already made a gift to this year’s effort. If you have not yet made your gift, envelopes are available at the church exits.

Please help us reach our goal.

 

 

 

RUTLAND DEANERY YOUTH APOSTOLATE Calling all Junior High and High School students! Gather up a team of up to 5 friends and an adult chaperone to join us for a fun day of Summer Games at St. John the Baptist Church, Castleton on Saturday, August 7. There will be lots of games ranging from lego contests, relay races, obstacle course, eating contests and more. OUR ORGANIST EMERITUS, Dr. Charles Callahan invites parishioners to a performance of the Boston Public Quartet. The Quartet will be in residence at the Vermont Conservatory of Music, 82 School St., Shoreham, VT. They will perform a free recital on Wednesday, July 28 at 6:00 PM. The Mission of the Boston Public Quartet is to “create a community of musicians, students and families in the neighborhoods of Boston through music performance and education.”

ICE CREAM SOCIAL – Christ the King School is hosting an Ice Cream Social for families with children in Grade Pre-K to Grade Two. This will be held on Thursday, August 5 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at the School located at 60 South Main St., Rutland. Children will be able to make their own sundaes, participate in crafts and activities, meet teachers and current CKS families. You may call Mary Lou at 438-0048 with any questions. St. Peter Parish would like to invite you to join us in celebrating the Feast of the Assumption at our annual picnic (everyone from St. Dominic’s is invited also). Hot dogs, Italian sausage, salads, soda, dessert and more will be served.

 

There will be music and the women of the parish will be selling Italian cookies and other delicacies to benefit the St. Anthony’s Guild.

HELP SUPPORT MSJ ATHLETIC PROGRAMS!

The MSJ Athletic Association is sponsoring its annual Cash Raffle. Tickets are $60.00 each. The raffle is Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 7:00 PM at the American Legion Post #31 on Washington St., Rutland. Free food, refreshments, games of chance.
