BABY BOOTIES FOR LIFE

To show our respect for the sanctity of human life, St. Peter and St. Dominic Churches are participating in Vermont Right to Life’s “Baby Booties for Life” fundraiser again this year. It’s easy! There are containers at all the entrances of the Church. Just take home a pair of baby booties today as you leave church and bring them back full of change at Mass on Father’s Day Weekend, June 14 – 15. They cannot afford any lost baby booties, so please don’t forget to bring them back! For more information, please call Linda at the Rectory Office, 775-1994. All proceeds will be donated to Vermont Right to Life.

Letter from Bishop Matano

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

The Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC), in partnership with our Diocesan Office of Communications, has been the Church’s voice in the media:  educating, inspiring and informing the public about Gospel values. The CCC plays an important role in our Church and in society. It is supported solely through an annual parish collection that merits our continued support.

This year’s collection date in our parishes is June 1 & 2. Please remember that half of your contribution to the CCC Collection stays right here in Vermont to support our own programs and projects, including the bi-weekly Vermont Catholic Tribune which continues as a key means of communication between the Bishop and his people, parish communities and our Catholic Schools.

This award-winning publication, delivered directly into more than 17,000 homes throughout Vermont, has a readership that exceeds 40,000. The VCT reports on various diocesan events, parish activities and issues of importance to Vermont Catholics. In addition to the print version, VCT Online and our on line Community Bulletin Board keep Catholics informed as to the many and varied events sponsored by the Diocese, individual parishes, and Catholic organizations. (Check us out at: http://www.vermontcatholic.org/vctonline/index.htm)

I have set a diocesan collection goal of $20,000! Your strong support will insure the continued availability of media resources which promote Gospel values and foster the teachings of the Catholic Church. I am grateful for your ongoing generosity.

With an assurance of my prayers, I remain,

Sincerely yours in Christ,

The Most Reverend Salvatore R. Matano

Bishop of Burlington
