PARISH COUNCIL ELECTIONS
St. Dominic
will be holding Parish Council elections for three positions on the
council on Sunday, June 15. The Parish Council is an advisory board
which works together with Fr. Ted to promote the spiritual welfare
of all persons within our parish and community. Your service on the
Parish Council is a wonderful way to serve the St. Dominic parish
community. The terms on the council are for three years. If any
parishioner is interested in serving on our Parish Council, please
contact Fr. Ted at 775-1994 as soon as possible.
CDA NEWS
The May meeting of Court St. Rose #1100 will be held on Monday, May 12th at 6:30 PM in the Parish Hall. Agnes Blow and Margaret Curtis are the committee members. All members are encouraged to attend.

ST.
DOMINIC needs a new person to take care of the sacristy/mass
preparation. Please contact Fr. Ted as soon as possible if you can
help St. Dominic in this important ministry.
PROCTOR NEIGHBORHOOD PROJECT
Come to the
Proctor Free Library to see presentations designed by Proctor
Elementary School students along with Maureen Dobart. They have
interviewed seniors about the neighborhoods in Proctor and want to
share photo presentations and information they have learned during
the process:
Monday, May 12th – 6:30-7:45 PM (The Garden of Eden, South St./ Park St. area, and North St./Terrace Hill area)
Tuesday, May 13th – 6:30-7:45 PM (Hospital Hill, West St./Cain St. area, and Meadow St. area)
Thursday,
May 15th – 6:30-7:45 PM
(East St. area, Beaver Pond/Florence Rd. area, Chatterton Park, and
School St. area)
KNOWING THE WARNING SIGNS OF ABUSE
Child
molesters look like everyone else. They don’t look like scary people
that anyone should know to avoid. Rather, they live with their
families in our neighborhoods. One of the most important ways to
ensure the safety of children in our environments is to know the
warning signs of adults who present a risk of harm to children.
Among these signs are when the person: (1) always wants to be alone
with children in areas where no one can monitor the interaction, (2)
allows children to do things their parents would not permit, (3) is
always more excited to be with children than with adults, and (4)
discourages others from participating in activities involving kids.

Then Jesus approached and said to them, "All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
