The three Churches of Proctor are sponsoring a Lenten series of evening prayer and talks on Wednesday’s at 7:00 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Proctor.  All are welcomed.

 Next Saturday, March 21, our second grade religious education students will be receiving First Penance at St. Dominic. Please pray for them as they prepare themselves for First Communion in May.

I will be away from Monday, March 16 to Thursday, March 19.

On the following Sundays, March 15, 22 and 29, at the 11:00 AM Mass, our parish will celebrate the Scrutinies for our Catechumen, Harriet Parot (who will be baptized at the Easter Vigil) and for our Candidate, Erica Holmquist (who will make a Profession of Faith as a Catholic at the Easter Vigil).The Scrutinies are ceremonies which pray for our Catechumen and Candidate that the Holy Spirit may heal all that is weak and sinful in their hearts and bring out and strengthen all that is upright, strong and good.

ST. DOMINIC’S ADOPT A CHARITY

This month we will be collecting for the Open Door Mission. The Open Door Mission not only has the soup kitchen, they provide temporary housing for homeless veterans. These veterans may stay for 90 days to help them get on their feet. We will be collecting toiletries for these veterans this month. Some items that you may want to donate:

     Toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, combs, brushes,    Kleenex, shampoo and deodorant.


ST. PETER FUEL RAFFLE – We held the February drawing on Sunday, March 1. The $25.00 winner was Jim Doherty, $50.00 winners were Jonathan Charles and Susan Roland and the $100.00 winner was John Socinski. Our next drawing will be March 29, after the 11:00 AM Mass. This drawing will be the last monthly drawing. The Grand Prize Drawing will be held on April 18.

 

 

GRAND PRIZE DRAWING – The Grand Prize Drawing is set for Saturday, April 18 beginning at 6:30 PM at the Howe Center. Dinner will be a supper-buffet. We will be drawing one $200.00 winner and two $500.00 winners. Ticket holders get in free. Guests are welcome to attend for $10.00 each. BAKED HAM SUPPER will be held at St. Mary’s Hall, Carver St. & Church St., Brandon, VT on March 21 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Adults $8.00; children ages 10 and under $5.00. Reservations call 247-9513. Take out available.

 

 

YOUTH MINISTRY – St. John the Baptist, Castleton, VT, Friday, March 20 at 6:30 – 8:30 PM. All area teens are invited to this evening of worship, prayer, reconciliation and witness. Fr. Henry Furman will lead our prayer time. Social time and refreshments.

 

 

THE COLLEGE OF ST. JOSEPH will observe its 52nd anniversary on Thursday, March 19 beginning at 2:00 PM in Tuttle Hall Theater. The community is invited. There will be a small reception. For more information, please call 773-5900 x 3264.

 

 

OUR LADY OF SEVEN DOLORS PARISH MISSION, Fair Haven, VT will be held on Sunday, March 15 to Wednesday, March 18. Times are: Sunday, 7:00 PM, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday at 9:00 AM. Everyone is welcome. Refreshments/social time following the services.

EASTER FLOWERS

FOR ST. PETER:  Envelopes are available at all the entrances. Remember to honor a loved one by making a donation for the purchase of flowers for Easter. Please place your envelope with the name(s) and your donation in the collection basket, drop it off at the Rectory or mail it by March 30. If you are a shut in and are unable to pick up an envelope, please call the Rectory during the week. Thank you.

 

FOR ST. DOMINIC:  Your envelope packets contain an Easter flower envelope in them. Please place your envelope with the name(s) and your donation in the collection basket, drop it off at St. Peter Rectory or mail it by March 30. Thank you.

 

WELCOME BACKPACK – DISMAS HOUSE

Dismas House, a residential program which helps those formerly jailed or imprisoned to make the transition to a new civilian life, is asking support to fill backpacks for their residents. There are baskets with individual items on slips of paper at the entrances of the Church. Please take a slip and return the item to church by March 28/29. This will be a good charity for the season of Lent.
