BISHOP’S FUND

 

The 2009 Bishop’s Fund Campaign is nearing completion. St. Peter’s has already raised a total of $29,781 of their $37,925 goal – St. Dominic’s has raised a total of $7,160 of their $10,295 goal.  Thank you to everyone who has already made a gift to this year’s effort. If you have not yet made your gift, envelopes are available at the entrances of both Churches.

 

Vacation Bible School this year will be held  on August 3rd to the 7th . Sign up forms can be picked up at the Union Church porch or in the rear of St. Dominic’s Church. Please contact Marie Baccei at 459-2834 for any questions.

 

 

 

DONATIONS ARE NEEDED to purchase flowers for St. Peter’s for the Feast of the Assumption in August. If you wish to make a donation, please call Lena Tedesco at 775-0585 or Nancy Benincasa at 773-6271. You may also put your donation in an envelope marked “Assumption Flowers” and put it in the Offertory basket at Mass. If you put your donation in the Offertory basket, please make the checks payable to Lena or Nancy. Thank you.

 

Adam De Blasio will be speaking at all the Masses at St. Peter’s this weekend about the Eagle Scout Project he will be raising money for.

 


 

MASS OF THANKSGIVING

The Most Reverend Salvatore R. Matano, Bishop of Burlington cordially invites the faithful of the Diocese of Burlington to join with our priests at a Mass of Thanksgiving, in this Year of the Priest, on Tuesday, August 4 at 7:00 PM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Pine Street, Burlington, VT. This is an opportunity for the entire Diocese to pray with and for their priests that the Lord may strengthen them in their vocation and they might continue to imitate Jesus Christ, the Eternal High Priest.

 

48th ANNUAL ART IN THE PARK SUMMER FESTIVAL will be held on August 8 & 9, 2009 in Main Street Park at the Junction of Routes 4 & 7 in Rutland. Hours are: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday with door prize drawings held throughout each day. Voluntary donations are appreciated. Proceeds support the Chaffee Art Center. MSJ 

 

MOUNT ST. JOSEPH ACADEMY is pleased to announce the addition of a new Information Technology Coordinator to the MSJ staff, Bjorn Behrendt (BJ). He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems from Castleton State College and is currently working toward his Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from UVM. In his role as IT Coordinator, he will be responsible for computer support as well as integration of technology in the curriculum. It is his hope to make MSJ one of the leading technological schools in the area.

 

 

HELP SUPPORT MSJ ATHLETIC PROGRAMS!

The MSJ Athletic Association is sponsoring its annual Cash Raffle. Tickets are $60.00 each. The raffle is Saturday, August 22, 2009, 7:00 PM at the American Legion Post #31 on Washington St., Rutland. There will be free food, refreshments and door prizes. St. Peter Parish would like to invite you to join us in celebrating the Feast of the Assumption at our annual picnic (everyone from St. Dominic’s is invited also). Hot dogs, Italian sausage, salads, soda, dessert and more will be served.

 

There will be music and the women of the parish will be selling Italian cookies and other delicacies to benefit the St. Anthony’s Guild.
