Third Sunday of Advent

Lord of all joy, you went to the trouble of coming to earth to offer us so much more than mere happiness or an endless series of diversions. Joy deep within is a sure sign of your presence. You give us a spirit of rejoicing so that we can be a sign to all the nations of the world that you are present and at work even now. Help us to receive the joy that you long to give us.
