ST. PETER PARISH

 

On going bottle drive – Receptacles are still in the Church for drop off. Bottle drive will continue throughout the year. If you have a large number of bottles, we will pick them up. Please call the Rectory at 775-1994.

 

 

ST. DOMINIC/ST. PETER

 

All families that had children in the K-6 Grade program last year will receive a letter in the mail shortly about this year’s program. Registration forms and a calendar will be included. New families and those who don’t receive the letter on or by August 15th, should contact the Rectory at 775-1994 or Marie Baccei at 459-2834 to have one sent.

 

Anyone interested in helping with the program in anyway should also contact the Rectory or Marie Baccei.

 

There will be a meeting for all teachers in Grades K-6 on Sunday, August 10th after the 9:15 AM Mass, in the Rectory. Anyone interested in helping out this year should also attend.

 

 

 

BISHOP’S FUND

The 2008 Bishop’s Fund continues to gain momentum. Our goal for this year is $39,200 for St. Peter and $11,250 for St. Dominic. We have already raised a total of $28,406 for St. Peter and $9,190 for St. Dominic. This is a wonderful start and we are grateful to all those who have shown their commitment to this 50th anniversary of the Bishop’s Fund.

FR. SAM’S ORDINATION

A video of Fr. Sam’s ordination at Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers, NY is available at the Parish Office. The rite included the ordination of three friars to the priesthood and two friars to the deaconate by Cardinal Sean O’Mally, O.F.M. Cap of Boston. If you are interested in viewing this video (which is in VHS), please call the Parish Office at 775-1994.

 

 

 

IF YOU CAN HELP…..

A 21 year old senior at the College of St. Joseph is looking for a place to live off campus during the upcoming school year. Charlie Siggins is a devoted Catholic who is responsible and respectful and he will of course pay rent. He may be contacted at 1-603-616-8611. Thank you.

They will also be having a bottle/can drive. The money from that will be used to ship the books.

POST-ABORTION RETREAT

Vermont Catholic Charities will offer a post-abortion retreat, “Entering Canaan Day of Prayer and Healing,” on Saturday, October 11, 2008. We ask for your continued prayer and support in reaching out to women who would benefit from this ministry. “Entering Canaan” helps women who are suffering as a result of losing a child to abortion. St. Peter Parish would like to invite you to join us in celebrating the Feast of the Assumption at our annual picnic (everyone from St. Dominic’s is invited also). The picnic will begin with the procession of the Blessed Virgin led by the Knights of Columbus Honor Guard. Hot dogs, Italian sausage, salads, soda, dessert and more will be served.

 

There will be music and the women of the parish will be selling Italian cookies and other delicacies to benefit the St. Anthony’s Guild.

 

Bring the family for an afternoon of food and fun!
